John F. Pollick

Mr. Pollick practices primarily in the areas of real estate, secured lending, bankruptcy, and debtor and creditor rights. He also has extensive experience in state and federal litigation and general business matters. He has held in-house positions with the Equity Group (Sam Zell) and Siemens Corporation, and was formerly a partner at Ross & Hardies and its successor, McGuireWoods LLP. He has been a frequent lecturer and author for continuing education programs, and for 19 years was an adjunct professor of bankruptcy law at Chicago-­Kent College of Law. He received his B.A. from Yale University and J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.

Mr. Pollick has been a member of the Illinois Leading Lawyers Network, Banking and Financial Institutions, since 2005. He is admitted to state and federal courts in Illinois.

  • Representation of businesses and individuals in connection with the acquisition, financing, leasing and selling of commercial and industrial real estate.

  • Representation of parties in general business transactions, including buying, selling and financing businesses and financial assets, with extensive experience in Article 9 security interests and asset-­based lending.

  • Representation of trustees in all aspects of Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcy cases and related adversary proceedings, including major fraudulent transfer and preference litigation, sale of estate assets, and preparation and confirmation of Chapter 11 plan.

  • Representation of landlords, lenders and other creditors in Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcies.

  • Representation of landlord and tenants in lease disputes and related litigation.

  • Representation of various entities as outside general counsel with respect to various business, employment, corporate and litigation matters.

  • Representation of secured creditors, lenders, and judgment creditors in foreclosure and replevin actions, enforcement of judgments, exercise of Article 9 rights, and out-of-court workouts.
